Very Rare Vintage 21" St Francis of Assisi Chalkware Statue by Mazzolini Artcraft Co - Stigmata Markings on his hands, Bible, Dove & Heron. Measures 21" tall and 5 1/2" wide. Beautiful depiction of St. Francis of Assisi with Stigmata markings on his hands. He is thought to be the first person recorded with the markings. In his right hand he is holding a bible. In his left is a dove with it beak touching his heart on his chest with its beak. Below him is a blue Heron bird looking up to him. There are minor chips and scratches on the statue. The face is perfect. No repairs on statue. "MA" is engraved on back of statue near base. Bottom of statue has the gold foil sticker from Mazzolini Artcraft Co., 1607 East 41st Street, Cleveland 3, Ohio. Company was founded in 1904 and continues making religious art.
