Vintage 18" French Altar Crucifix of Brass & Silver Tin Tabletop with Sunburst Finial, Ornate Details, Angels, Snake and Sacred Heart. Measures 18" tall and 4 1/2" wide. So much detail to this Altar Crucifix that most likely dates back to the 1800s. Made of silver tin that is engraved. The cross Jesus is on has fine detail etchings with a silver arrow tip at each of the points of the cross. Jesus is gold tone. Below Him at the base of the cross are two angels weeping. The kneel above a snake entwined around a stem of the cross. Below that is another stem of cut and details tin in leaves that float around the base of the altar piece. At the very bottom of the stem, is the Sacred Heart. The heart and the sunburst behind it are brass. A very beautiful and details piece for your prayer corner. Please take time to look at the pictures to admire the detail and symbolism of this special Altar Crucifix. There are a few spots on the silver tin that have oxidized causing an aqua patina. The crucifix is also lightweight due to the silver tin used.
